I just BEAT all Episodes in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls

I just beat the Episode Mode in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls and while I like the comic book anime style story, with my favorite being Samurai Outriders, I wish there were more animated cutscenes.

Don’t get me wrong, the story is great in my book, but after playing the first Fighting Avengers story, I was under the assumption there would be more, but I noticed the animated cutscenes were the same in each story, just featuring the Promoter and the Champion, so I just skipped them, which sucks, because why would Arc System Works do that?

I guess it’s no secret, because the gameplay is so rock solid, majority of the budget must have gone into developing that, which I don’t blame them, but you’d think with Marvel and Disney’s backing that a budget would be almost non-existent.

Another thing is the difficulty level, in the story, is automatic and you have the option to lower it after you lose, but I kid you not, sometimes I’d lower it all the way down to Level 2, which is the lowest it can go, and the CPU would still wipe the floor with me, with a Perfect, like the game glitched to beyond Level 4 or something as one time I was just infinite comboed and never touched the ground the entire match.

What’s even more ridiculous is if I have to lower it to Level 2, which means I probably lost three times in a row, why in the world does the game jump it back up to Level 4 in the next match, not to mention that the Levels basically just increases the CPU’s health and damage, by a super wide margin, that it takes forever just to beat them. So that particular system is just ridiculous all round, which doesn’t make sense as in the All-Star Arena Mode you literally can choose Easy from the start.

With everything else is Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls truly worth $60? And why isn’t the Promoter a playable character? What are we doing LOL? Honestly, even though I’ve definitely been enjoying the game, I’d say it’s worth $30 at most…
