As I searched through various things, killing time, looking for signs of treasure, at Goodwill, I accidentally struck gold!
One of the employees was stocking the shelf where I was browsing when something he had caught my eye.
This man put an ASUS monitor on the shelf and I had to do a double take, because this wasn’t your standard everyday monitor, it was the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A, a 27-inch, 2K, 180Hz Monitor and get this, it was $24.99! For reference, it’s selling on Amazon at the moment for $209!
The monitor turned on and everything seemed in order and when I got home, because I was skeptical, I tested it with my setup and nothing was wrong with it. It even looks brand new, the only issue I could find was a very small pin size crack on the screen as I was cleaning it, but it’s not even noticeable when you turn it on.
As I currently have the ASUS VG279, also a 27-inch, 1080p, 144Hz monitor, this was an absolute steal, finally giving me a two monitor setup!
It was such a steal that I started guessing what could possibly make someone give this to Goodwill, for free! I thank them that they did, but I’m guessing either they got a new 4K monitor or someone’s girlfriend or wife got upset that they were playing too many games and donated the monitor in retaliation. I hope it wasn’t that serious, but man it makes you think…
Anyways, I am enjoying my new monitor as I’m currently typing and editing this blog post on it!
