The past few years have been a struggle at the box office, so many flops, with many of those movies not even making budget back…
But something strange has happened this year in 2026, the movies have actually been good?
I’ve seen three so far and all three have broken records, Michael, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Jaafar Jackson in Michael, this man deserves an oscar, like people were doing a standing ovation at the end of the movie in the theater I went to, I thought he was actually Michael Jackson for a second!
The Odyssey honestly surprised me, the trailers did not do it justice, I was not expecting a trip home to be so treacherous.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day really tugged at the heart strings, it just felt like I was really struggling right along with Spider-Man.
Despite the controversy with the first two movies though, people still came out in mass to watch them, with The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day both doing over $1 billion, like that’s just crazy numbers. Tom Holland and Zendaya will not be struggling to eat for a long time, trust me on that LOL.
This year isn’t even over yet and we have Mutiny with Jason Statham, The Uprising with Andrew Garfield, Resident Evil, Dune: Part Three with Zendaya, for her third movie this year, and Avengers: Doomsday just to name a few.
So, what is going on? Why is this year so stacked? Was Hollywood getting scared? Was the bank accounts drying up? Because the level of these recent movies is unheard of, but I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts!
