I finally did it, finally bought Street Fighter 6!
Everyone on Earth was praising the game so highly. The characters look so good it seems impossible that such a game, a fighting game no less, on such a graphical scale was made.
But… As always things are too good to be true as there is a major elephant in the room…
After starting up Street Fighter 6, for the first time and clicking the first tab you land on, the Battle Hub, I’m greeted by something that almost immediately made me regret my purchase. Something I’ve never heard even remotely mentioned, despite the game being a year old now…
For those that played, you know exactly what I’m talking about, like why would you start the game like this, even Hogwarts Legacy didn’t start that way. This is literally the worst opening in gaming history.
You want your guy in there fine, Hogwarts Legacy did it to… But starting with such a monstrosity is absolutely ridiculous, especially when you are marketing the game towards children and let’s be real everything is marketed towards children, it’s no secret, despite what these companies say…
Why don’t they just ever make their own game with this stuff? You know why because they’ll instantly go bankrupt, so they always have to throw it in major franchises knowing the majority of gamers have issues with it, even if they may not mention it.
It breaks my heart that Capcom, a Japanese company, an Asian company, would do this. Have the Americans finally got to them? I honestly hope not…
I know Street Fighter 6 was one year shy from the bloodbath that was 2024, but if developers don’t honestly look back at the causes, 2025 could be even worse for the gaming industry.
