I recently wrote an article called, Top 3 Battles – Ultimate Ninja Storm Series, and decided why not pick my favorite tracks as well. A few will line up with the previous article, but one was an absolute jam that many have forgotten and it might surprise you.
#3: The Uchiha Hideout
Composer: Chikayo Fukuda
Game: Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2
Official Release: October 15, 2010
At number 3, The Uchiha Hideout. If you played with your friends and somehow the matchup became Sasuke VS Itachi, there was no other choice but to play here. Heavily tied to the boss battle The Two Uchiha, the track hits too hard to pass up the opportunity to see who comes out on top in regular play.
#2: Seeking Answers
Composer: Chikayo Fukuda
Game: Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3
Official Release: March 5, 2013
I honestly had trouble picking whether Seeking Answers should be at position 2 or 3, but ultimately decided to have it at position 2. The emotion of the song tied to the boss battle Hero and Avenger combined with Sasuke’s murderous intent during the battle, just hits your heart so much that it has to be up here with the greats.
#1: The Calm Before the Storm (Main Menu/Character Select)
Composer: Chikayo Fukuda
Game: Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2
Official Release: October 15, 2010
Yes! At number 1, you may have forgotten, but I haven’t. Once again from Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, we have what many deem as just Character Select. No one knows it’s true name as it wasnt even listed in the game soundtrack, but I’ve seen a few youtubers name the main menu music which is considered the first part of the song The Calm Before the Storm.
When you travel to the character select screen the music transitions into part two thus which is why many, including myself, call that part Character Select. As it’s unofficial namesake this song plays at the character select screen and it’s an absolute jam.
No other game in the series had a jam as good as this playing during the select screen. People would literally just leave the game on said screen just to listen to the music play. I know, I was one of them. By all accounts, I consider this song the first and second parts to be Chikayo Fukuda’s masterpiece and masterpiece of the entire series!
