Tides of Annihilation first took the gaming world by storm with Eclipse Glow Games, based out of China, releasing an announcement trailer back in February of 2025 during PlayStation’s State of Play. There was such overwhelming interest in the new game that just two days later an in depth 11 minute gameplay trailer was released and then radio silence, until today where Tides of Annihilation resurfaced making a surprise appearance during Xbox’s Partner Preview.
Gamers just can’t get enough of Gwendolyn and we got to see more of her during the new Mirror Combat Trailer, showcasing a Boss Battle versus Tyronoe, The Ferryman, literally throwing a sun at her.
Now while seeing more gameplay was amazing, I did notice performance was struggling this time around, in certain areas, which didn’t look good for a game that’s apparently been in development for three years and also brings into question an unsettling trend that’s been happening recently in the gaming world. Are they just throwing something out the door for investors, not realizing the damage it could cause to their reputational impact?
With that being said, I was honestly still impressed with the new trailer! Like what is going on in China lately with these back to back masterpieces such as Where Winds Meet and where have these developers been hiding all this time?
There is still no release date for Tides of Annihilation, but I’m expecting sometime in 2026!
