The biggest MYSTERY of the Underworld film series

Underworld: Blood Wars
Selene – Underworld: Blood Wars (2016)

The Underworld films are definitely a good watch as I enjoyed over the 1000 year old Selene (Kate Beckinsale) basically going to war with those dual pistols, solo most times. If this was an Anime she’d definitely be considered one of the 7 Warlords of the Undead.

Over the course of watching the movies, there is one mystery that was never solved, that may be one the biggest mysteries in my opinion.

No, it’s not how the vampires are literally getting pregnant, though it would be funny to see a scientist break it down.

The mystery is Selene’s blood, which contains her growing powers, conquering the daylight after the events of Underworld: Evolution (2006) and the Bleach style flash step she learned in the most recent movie Underworld: Blood Wars (2016).

How she got said powers isn’t necessarily the mystery, but the rate they were acquired and the fact that no other vampires besides Semira (Lara Pulver) in Blood Wars, even tried to go after her blood to also acquire the potentially broken abilities.

Matter of fact every time she walked into a room, apart from the first movie, it seemed her own kind was scared to death of her, which begs the question did the virus acquired from Alexander Corvinus’s (Derek Jacobi) blood in Evolution contain an intimidation plague like factor, causing the original vampire virus to fear for it’s life?

It seems that drinking Selene’s blood causes no immediate issues, though the only three references we have is Semira, who’s dead, David (Theo James), who was also technically dead before receiving her blood, and Lena (Clementine Nicholson), who was already a somewhat enhanced type of vampire.

Does Selene’s blood carry an unfathomable curse we have yet to understand? I guess they should make some more movies so we can find out!
