JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R… I swear this game… The All-Star Battle mode has to be the worst thing developed in fighting gaming history…
I decided to torture myself with this mode because after my journey with Jolyne Cujoh, I just wanted all the items, outfits, and colors for all the characters.
So, I’m currently in Part 5 Golden Wind and the Extra Battle, Prosciutto and Pesci VS Shigekiyo Yangu is the absolute worst, literally unplayable. In particular, Secret Mission 3 – Land an HHA, seems so simple right? But you couldn’t be further from the truth.
Prosciutto and Pesci HHA is, I can see your movements! You’re wide open!, only one problem with this move is that it’s a counter, but Shigekiyo Yangu keeps using long range moves, grabs, and when he actually physically hits you the move has already faded away, not to mention that if you are to close you may actually grab him yourself since the two buttons you have to press double as the grab mechanic.
Coming across a Reddit post online with someone having the same exact issue, someone in the comments recommended using a Support Effect, Keep Tapping with Arts & Crafts’ Finger, which effect is, Your HH Gauge automatically fills over time, and spam the counter move. Yeahhh, I wasted 1000 G because even after spamming the move for nearly an hour it still doesn’t work…
Don’t even get me started on the Stylish Evade Secret Missions, which appears way more than it should, which is honestly just you playing Russian Roulette on whether the PC read your button press in 0.1 seconds. So many moves in this game are completely random whether they activate or not, assuming they don’t interfere with another move.
Not to mention a lot of the moves are also just completely misnamed in the Secret Mission list, like the developers were too lazy to change the names for what was supposed to be a “Remaster” hence the R in the name.
Despite this, I still think JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is really a good fighting game, when you are just enjoying the characters and actually fighting, but locking all the items behind the stupid and tedious Secret Missions is so dumb.
