So, according to multiple sources, a live-action Naruto film is in the works with, as they say, Masashi Kishimoto’s blessing no less.
This film has the potential to make a billion dollars at the box office, but I don’t think this is going to go the way everyone thinks it is…
Why? Because even with the creator’s blessing and oversight they are undoubtedly going to change stuff from the original so much so that we are going to be wondering why they even called the film Naruto in the first place.
We have seen this countless times over the years and it may be different if Kishimoto were directing it himself, but alas he’s not.
Also, I haven’t been keeping up with Boruto, but let’s not forget the controversy and how Kishimoto literally had to come back and take over the story. Though sources claim it’s because his other manga failed which ironically happened around the same time Boruto was about to pass the no save point, assuming it hasn’t already.
The point I’m making is that the new film may be Naruto in name only, but will it capture our hearts like Netflix’s One Piece did? I’m very skeptical, but as always we’ll have to see…
