It’s Ryder’s time now…
After unfortunately dropping Mass Effect 3, blind to Shepard’s fate, I hopped right into Mass Effect: Andromeda and thank goodness we were lucky enough to have a main quest tab once again! Such a small mechanic to ask for…
Anyway, after blazing through and finishing the main story, I’ve got to say I’m more impressed with Mass Effect: Andromeda than I was with my short run with Mass Effect 3.
I knew exactly where to go, as it should be with literal space technology, no side quests blocking my path to find out the Kett’s true plans, so the experience has been honestly enjoyable. It was a well spent $5.
With that being said, there are some issues… The scan and loot mechanics have to be the stupidest in the game, you’d think with literally AI and once again, space technology, that stuff like that would automatically just go to your Omni-tool, but maybe that’s asking for too much…
It seems that the trade off for having the main quest tab back was losing the ability to use all of your powers, as the max is three at a time now, and control over using your teammates powers, which makes no sense as you still can level up said powers. Despite that major upset though, the combat is the best it’s ever been.
Which leads me into the final mission, which sucks too, as they do nothing but throw waves of endless enemies at you while the developers have the imaginary timer running. Which they haven’t done for the entirety of the game, but decided to do it at the end for whatever reason in place of a boss fight.
As for my favorites though, my favorite weapon was my crafted Sidewinder, I just like the style of spaced out old western revolvers and my favorite powers were, Lance, Omni Grenade, and Cryo Beam, while running the Explorer Profile, for the absolutely broken Biotic Blink.
