We’ve reached a point in technology where, to be honest, game file sizes doesn’t really matter anymore.
This came to mind after watching Lidia be revealed as Tekken 8’s second DLC character. For those out of the loop Lidia was the last character to be released as DLC in Tekken 7, but guess what my friends you also have to buy her again in Tekken 8…
I don’t know if this is a new trend or what, but Mortal Kombat 1 is also pulling the same tricks.
I understand the companies want to make money, but guys they are already charging $70 for the base game…
Anyway, I’m always getting off topic, but the reason is because most of the time when you hear why certain characters were removed or whatnot, in video games, it’s because of “limitations or file sizes,” like who are y’all fooling, AI is literally talking now, limitations haven’t existed for years.
The point I’m making is to just put everything in the game at the start. $70 is breaking the bank for many people who have to break it even more for optional characters if you want to have a “complete,” game.
It’s no secret the game industry has been absolutely suffering lately with all the layoffs, which is sad, but the games themselves have been suffering a lot longer and it seems we may be on the brink of a catastrophe…
