Fighting Ground is Street Fighter 6’s BEST mode

After expressing my disgust with Street Fighter 6’s World Tour mode, it’s time to talk about its best mode, Fighting Ground.

My goodness, Fighting Ground is by all accounts the true Street Fighter 6, where you use the main roster of characters and have all the classic fighting game modes, but I guess you can’t justify a $70 price tag with just these modes, but hey here’s an idea, why not just add all the characters ever made like DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO instead of wasting resources on a mode that seems like the developers didn’t even want to make. If they did that, the game would have flew off the shelves, even if they didn’t, just charge $30 and take the hit.

Anyways, Fighting Ground, the music transitions and the way the characters walk out before the match is insane.

The addition of Modern Controls is honestly great, because I never can press all those buttons precisely or fast enough to pull off special moves.

Even the Arcade Story mode is here which is surprising. It has a few great things in my book, you can set the rounds to one per match, set the CPU to the easiest, and set the matches to 5, which I actually like! Some fighting games go overboard with how many rounds and matches are in the arcade mode, so this is great for the casual player like myself.

I played through with Cammy and Juri and the character stories are short, voiced, slideshow style and I’m not mad at it. It’s honestly more interesting than devastating World Tour mode. Just imagine if those resources went into making an actual cinematic story with cinematic fights. Crazy thinking right?

I said I originally was going to try learning Juri first, but Cammy had something special going on for her birthday and my eyes couldn’t pass it up, so I played Ranked Match with her and only won 3 out of 10 matches and placed at Rookie.
