I’ve honestly been thinking for a while that the Collector Particle Beam is the most overpowered gun in my loadout in Mass Effect 2, but became completely certain during the Thresher Maw fight with Grunt during the Rite of Passage.
The beam just absolutely melted the beast’s health to the point I was shocked it worked so well.
Yeah, I’ve used the gun on other boss level enemies, but it never did so much damage. I had to combine it with other weapons and biotic abilities to be somewhat effective in combat.
I’m also playing on Casual difficulty and the game definitely still feels hard in certain areas to be honest.
My current and favorite loadout at the moment, including the Collector Particle Beam, is the M-5a Phalanx Heavy Pistol, M-9b Tempest Submachine Gun, and Geth Plasma Shotgun.
