Skins in FPS Games are Ridiculous

It never fails to amaze me how we as gamers can spend $20 or $30-50, for Overwatch 2 players, these days on cosmetic skins, in first person games, we can’t even see. I understand skins in 3rd person live service games, but fps games? I’m not a saint though, I have fallen for the trap and contributed to the billions they make off these said skins, same as you my friend.

The last 2 games in memory I actually spent money on, a fps skin, were Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Lifeline’s Pirate Queen skin and Park’s Tagger skin, both of which cost $20 a pop and I haven’t truly played either of the games in about 2 years. Now mind you I enjoyed having both of those skins at the time, but now that I’m older and wiser, I look back and realize how stupid it was.

I’ve navigated away from the fps genre in general the past few years. It seems I have more fun with 3rd person games and that’s probably because I can actually see the skins, animations, and whatnot. Who would have thought? I’ve got to stop… 🤣

Yeah, it’s nice to look at those fps skins from the lobby, but who are we fooling we all know it was a waste of change that could have been spent better elsewhere, like buying a another game for example or if your really trying to play the system investing then spending the gains on a new game, not going to lie I did the latter a few times myself.
