Geoff Keighley and The Game Awards are back for 2025 and the contenders for Game of the Year are,
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Sandfall Interactive
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kojima Productions
- Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo
- Hades II, Supergiant Games
- Hollow Knight: Silksong, Team Cherry
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Warhorse Studios
Back in July of 2024, I wrote an article called, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 a potential SLEEPER hit, the game released in April of 2025 and broke records. I called it almost a full year prior, just based on the gameplay trailer and now I’m calling it again and I still haven’t even played the game myself.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is apparently making history yet again with 12 Nominations alone, the most in The Games Awards history, with some even calling it the Game of the Decade. Sandfall Interactive is about to sweep the stage and everyone knows it.

The Games Awards will take place December 11, 2025 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.
