Ramlethal – GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2 (October 9, 2025)

I’ve been playing GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2 and just finished the Story Mode.

Now, this is my first time ever experiencing a Guilty Gear game.

The Story was a sit back and watch, visual novel type, like Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, but this time it was very interesting and I was actually invested, but at the same time it had similar problems as Granblue and I felt like a lot of the fluff could have been cut…

It’s nine Chapters long with A and B Parts, on top of the A, B, & C After Story segments. I’ve been playing for weeks and even split up over the course of multiple days, it just seems like it was too long and meaning was getting lost near the last 25% of the Story.

Anyways, the actual fighting gameplay is solid and my favorite characters are basically all the Valentines, Ramlethal, Jack-O’, and Elphelt and the Extra Colors are basically modern day skins, which was shocking seeing this game was released 8 years ago in the microtransaction era, which still hasn’t ended unfortunately!
