The legendary creator of Dragon Ball has passed away…

Today is a sad day, if not one of the saddest in history…

I was at my desk working last night when I opened up Twitter to find out Akira Toriyama had passed…

“We are deeply saddened to inform you that Manga creator Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1st due to acute subdural hematoma. He was in age of 68.” – @DB_official_en (March 7, 2024)

Toriyama was the absolute Greatest of All Time, no question whatsoever. So, when many heard the news it felt as if we lost a part of ourselves.

I remember when I was a kid and all of our immediate family lived together. My cousin would sneak into me and my brother’s room to watch Dragon Ball Z which was airing on Adult Swim at the time. My Aunt would be yelling across the house at us and we would be lying saying we’re not watching anything lol.

The video games that were created based off of his work were insane and are still enjoyed to this day.

He has plenty of content that hasn’t been released yet, so we will get to enjoy the last of his work for a while.

But…

We all know too much money is on the line and they will no doubt continue making Dragon Ball, the only problem is that this time, it’s going to be a campaign to destroy Toriyama’s legacy.

Sabotage has been in the works for years and now the chance has finally risen for the studio to double down and everyone unfortunately knows this.

May you rest in peace Akira Toriyama, you will be greatly missed…

So sad! It’s still hard to believe this happened. We play DBZ in my household daily just to keep the reminder of how big of a G.O.A.T he was and why DBZ and all of his other work is amazing! RIP

    1. When the next show and game releases sales are probably going to be through the roof.
