Netflix released their live-action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender and while watching the show, it just made me feel like I should watch the original again and then that got me thinking we need a true Avatar fighting game.
After a quick Google search, the first article that came up was by my rival IGN saying Maximum Entertainment already has one in the works. I don’t blame you if you never heard of these guys as I haven’t either.
That’s not a knock at their skills or anything, but you know who we really need to make that game? I have a few ideas…
As I have covered in depth on this site, CyberConnect2 may have made a major slip up with Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, but I wouldn’t count them out just yet as they could redeem themselves with a new game.
Or we could go the 2D route with Arc System Works as these guys are absolutely insane with their games.
A miracle could happen and we could get the best of both worlds 2D and 3D from the creators of Tekken, especially after the success of Tekken 8.
I know these are all Japanese game studios, no coincidence there…
As far as I’m concerned, Avatar: The Last Airbender is the only American cartoon I would consider an honorary Anime in my book.
At this point though, just give me the license, so we can catch the ball at least once.
