Special Story Mode – The Biggest Flop and Ways to Fix It…

Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections
Special Story Mode – Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections (November 22, 2023)

You thought it was over? Oh, nooo, nooooo, we got plenty more to discuss…

Special Story Mode, the major selling point of Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, has to be the biggest flop I’ve ever seen. If you thought History Mode was bad, it gets even worse…

Yet another False Advertising scheme, this mode was marketed as a new major battle between Naruto and Sasuke, filler or not, something like that would sell in a heartbeat, but you start to play and then fall into despair like The Five Kage Summit Sasuke…

You start with one regular battle from them, then the story disappears to a Boruto slog through a meaningless setup and when you finally get back to them there is still no payoff. The scenes are jumbled around, the battles have no quick time actions, it was the laziest take I’ve ever seen.

It’s not all bad as we did get an interesting story with Boruto and Nanashi, but it took far, far too long to get there.

Using my self proclaimed expertise and being the nice guy that I am, there is a way to salvage this madness…

First off,

Keep, Ninja World in Upheaval – Episode 0
Fuse with, The Clash of Two Titans – Episode 4
Completely Scrap, Episode 1 and 2
Keep, Secret Actions Exposed – Episode 3
Keep, A Major Deciding Battle – The Final Episode
Keep, Defend to the Death – The Actual Final Episode

Going by this logic, we’d have about 12 battles to work with. This will bring the game down to 3 chapters.

Chapter 1 – Naruto VS Sasuke (3 Battles)
Chapter 2 – Boruto VS Nanashi & Merz (7 Battles)
Chapter 3 – Boruto VS Uchiha Clan (2 Battles)

Also, add quick time actions to every battle above, the Special Story would instantly become 100 times better and you’d lose the 75% filler of the game, but they don’t want to hear that, actually make the game good? Never!!!
