The gaming industry is going bankrupt and this has been brewing for years…
Reason I – Games aren’t fun anymore…
Most people these days are working 2 or 3 jobs or 100 hour weeks to get by, so when the weekend comes, why in the world would they want to grind for another 100 hours to be able to remotely tackle a boss?
It’s one thing if the game is actually good, but completely another if you deem it not worth the time of day.
Kids aren’t even playing these games anymore, if that’s not a sign of things needing to change I don’t know what is.
Reason II – Unethical monetization…
Most games, even paid games, are trying to destroy your wallet. A prime recent example is Mortal Kombat 1, it had a shop in the game at launch, so you paid $100+ for the game and season pass then see a Mileena skin in the shop and have to fork over another $20.
Reason III – All the characters look sus…
I’m trying to be nice here and I recently mentioned this in my article, Tomb Raider is about to lose MILLIONS, but it’s true, none of the characters in games look good anymore.
Gamers can’t even remember the last good looking character they saw in a game. Which is why many, including myself, are still obsessing over 2B from NieR: Automata, a game that came out 7 years ago…
We have 3D Models with millions of polygons, but they don’t look appealing at all, then when someone makes something like Stellar Blade and players like it, the developers of other games start attacking players because they don’t like their sus models.
