An absolute NIGHTMARE, gamers FURIOUS over PlayStation’s State of Play Japan

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake (November 11, 2025)

PlayStation’s State of Play Japan was a new take for Sony that many were excited for, advertised as a full 40+ minute presentation featuring games from the East, every gamers dream this day in age, the excitement quickly faded as gamers started to notice something terribly wrong, but what was it that has made the fanbase so furious, causing many to say State of Play was a State of No Games, the worst game show they ever seen, just a waste of time and their life, and could have just been an email? What made it so bad that Yuki Kaji, Voice Actor for Eren Yeager in the Anime Attack on Titan, couldn’t even save it? So, I had no choice, but to get to the bottom of this madness.

Truthfully, from my research, what seemed to upset the masses the most was the fact that the majority of the presentation featured DLC, remakes and indie games… and I don’t blame them for being upset… Part of that is because of the way they advertised the presentation…

None of the heavy hitters many were expecting to hear from, such as Resident Evil Requiem from Capcom, for example, made an appearance.

I only found three games to be appealing myself which were Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake from Koei Tecmo, releasing March 12, 2026, BlazBlue Entropy Effect X from 91Act, releasing February 26, 2026, and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls from Arc System Works also releasing sometime in 2026.

Now even those games which have been the consensus to be the best for many, with one being a remake and the other a closed beta for the moment, were only four minutes total out of the presentation. I guess it really could have been an email…
